Last week saw the release of the eOne UK trailer for ‘Funny Cow’ which clocked up an impressive 258,000 views, 406 comments and 651 shares over a 7 day run.
Social media caught on with wide-ranging tweets promoting the trailer with interaction from Corinne Bailey Rae, Dominic Brunt, Tula Lotay, Max Beesley, Shobna Gulati, Jim Moir (aka Vic Reeves), Natalie Anderson, Kellie Shirley, Richard Hawley, Empire Magazine, star of ‘Funny Cow’ Maxine Peake and the singular talent Tony Pitts, writer of ‘Funny Cow’.
We are proud to announce that Cadiz Music will be releasing the original song ‘Funny Cow’, written and performed by Richard Hawley, as a single on April 21st as part of Record Store day.
‘Funny Cow’ is the title track taken from the film with Richard Hawley also scoring the soundtrack with heartfelt emotion. Along with providing the music, Richard also takes on a role and duets with Corinne Bailey Rae as a club-singing group performing a beautiful version of Richard’s ‘I Still Want You’.
As well as being available as a download, the single – which has ‘Funny Cow’ as an A-side and ‘A Little Bit More’ as a B-Side – will also be released as a 7” Vinyl single with radio air play lined up closer to the release of the film.
Contributing to the film soundtrack is Ollie Trevers, an incredible new talent who also performs in the film singing his original song ‘Twist it, Shake it’ in a memorable 1960’s basement club scene. Ollie wrote a further four tracks which feature in the film and will also be included in the full soundtrack release scheduled for later this year.
So as well as keeping eyes peeled for the cinema release of ‘Funny Cow’, keep ears ready to hear some fantastic new music.
